Has anybody else tried it?

I used it today, because Connor was driving me bananas and I just couldn't think straight and ya know, it's really great. I feel more positive and gathered.

I meditate quite a bit. It helps me get to sleep or calm down or gather my thoughts. It's nice. :)

My wife is really into it. I have never really given it chance....no patience.

I often sit quietly and clear my mind of thoughts for some peace and quiet.

But i'd be lying if i said it was meditating. I have no knowledge of the inner details of meditation, or even its proper definition.

I feel changed after I've been meditating for a while.

I've become more centered. It's hard to describe.

- I focus more on being positive vs wallowing in negativity.

- I work harder on bringing positivity into my life vs waiting for it to happen.

- I focus on being peaceful vs being right.

- I'm more insightful. I was able to figure out what was causing my unusual agitation towards Connor.

He was no different and I was no different. There must have been an external variable causing this change in behavior, and there was. The blow up at my sister's house was eating at me like an ulcer. The cause of the agitation was misplaced anger and frustration. I faced the problem, by going to my sister's house and having dinner and when I woke up this morning after the most free and liberating dream, I felt freedom. This is an amazing contrast to the dream the night before. I had dreamt my teeth had fallen out and I had visualized it in obscene detail. Down to the roots of the teeth and the bloody sockets.

I notice the effects of meditation, right away. My tone is different, my actions are more mindful. I feel more at peace.

Hmm, yeah, i get all of that out of quiet inner thought. But i dont think i can call it meditation as it often involves getting stoned. But i see similair effects in myself.

Also, I had vivid dreams about my teeth coming out last week. And like you said i can see the roots and hear them tearing and ripping, i can even taste the blood. Its very vivid.

So how do you meditate ? I must be doing somethin reltively similair.

These are the steps I take for a successful meditation session:

- First and foremost I make sure Connor is occupied. When he's happy and settled, everything goes so much easier.

- I listen to the nature music station on TV. It gives some really nice natural background noise that isn't overwhelming.

- I light Nag Champa incense. Creates really nice atmosphere.

Sitting down to meditate:

- I sit on the floor with my legs straight out. (Crossing them is too uncomfortable. My feet fall asleep. Do what makes you feel right.)

- I place my hands on my lap, palms facing up.

- I close my eyes.

- I take several deep breaths. Repeating Positive energy in, negative energy out.

- To further focus my mind, I mentally go over my body and take note on how they feel. I start with my scalp, make my way down to my feet, then notice the back of my body.

- I imagine peaceful scenes, along with the nature sounds I place myself in it. Being calm and collected.

- I don't force anything, except for avoiding intruding thoughts that pull me away from being calm.

- When I'm done I just take a moment to acknowledge the calm I feel.

That's it!

Yeah, i guess the result of meditation is to feel calm, composed and clear headed. I do this in diffferent ways. First of all:

I makesure no one is in the house.

Then get Naked.. JOKE !

Naw, i then roll one.

Turn down the lights.

Lie on my back. Light up.

Listen to Tool, or some ambient music.

Close my eyes, slow my breathing and think about space.

This calms me down and refreshes me.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Method 2: I go for a fast ride on my bike. This greatly slows your heart rate and breathing whilst simeltaneously exajurating your reflexes and vision and pumps adrenaline into your brain like a feckin squishy machine. Then whilst im still buzzing i pull in to my favourite pub, strip to my T-shirt in the sun, light up, and again drift away with my eyes closed.

This is a very unique feeling. I still have the extremely low breathing and circulation, yet with the tail end of some adrenaline. If you get it right with some smoke it makes for a very unique transition into a totaly calmed state. Its a feeling you cant get any other way. It requires a huge proper adrenaline burst followed by a rapid calming session. Spaces me right out.

Im gonna try your method tonight P.n355. Got the house to myself.
